  1. Whey protein can be used to gain muscle mass.
Any protein can for that matter as long as you have exercised properly and provide your self with good rest.
And yes they all taste bad. Drink milk with a protein bar. Some of the protein bars taste really good…. the snickers ones are da bomb. Make sure you eat enough fiber too!
But if you must I’d go with vanilla flavored shakes! If you want something with chocolate just add chocolate syrup….

  2. I bought a 5 pound tub of optimum 100% whey last week. I’ve been researching all sorts of stuff, and it seems to be the best whey protein for its price. I use it to build mucle, and it works pretty well. It has about 23 or 24g of protein per scoop (similar to many others) and has loads of BCAAs that are essential to build some real muscle. It doesn’t taste terrible if you drink it with milk. I can’t drink any whey with water… makes me puke. Anyways, good luck!

  3. Optimum whey is one of the best proteins I have ever used. I buy it by the 10 lb bag. It mixes well and taste great.
That being said, before you start taking supplements, make sure that you are getting quality nutrition from foods first. Supplements are meant to supplement an already good diet.
And yes, whey protein will help you build muscle as that is the role of protein in the body – repair and build muscle.
You can get a great deal on Optimum whey at Bodybuilding.com. Cheaper than any other place I have found.
