The good thing about this is you can lose while trying to gain or lose weight.  
It has 24grams of protein per scoop/only 3carbs/1fat -120 calories.
I use this supplement year round when I am trying to bulk up I add some fruit/milk/ and peanut butter to my shakes, and when i am trying to lose weight I just have a scoop in cold water.</description>

Technically the one with the best protein/carb - total product weight ratio would be the best, however at the beggining if you want to gain weight, I recommend the most cost effective one (best protein/carb - price ratio).
I use EAS which is top shelf, but it costs an arm and a leg.</description>
